It's always so amazing to see the garden blooming as the warm summer months begin. not only is there a wonderful satisfaction to being outside soaking in the vitamins of the sun and breathing in the wonderful fresh air, but also, being able to reap the fruits of my labor! :)

The herbs in my garden are some of my favorite summertime ingredients, and they are also the easiest to grow-- (cilantro, basil, thyme and oregano, to name a few) and are the key to all my fresh summer recipes.

But all those savory dishes wouldn't be complete without a wonderful summer cocktail fresh from the garden! So, here's a little recipe for my Summer Garden Strawberry Cocktail, it is surely the best way to end the day in the garden!

Take 4-5 ripened strawberries and dice them into 1/2" slices, place into shaker

Take 7-8 mint leaves straight from the stem, and cut them in half, place into shaker with strawberries.

Place 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar on top of mint leaves and strawberries and muddle the mixture for 1 minute.

Pour muddled ingredients into a glass and add 1.5 ounces of your favorite vodka. Top with hand crushed ice and a splash of club soda-- add a slice of fresh lime for that extra zest, and Enjoy!
