Earlier this summer, Jeff Koons brought his latest installation 'Split Rocker' to Rockefeller Center. The sculpture has been touring the world and has been everywhere from Versailles to Maryland. It's over 37 feet high and is the home to over 50,000 flowering plants!
Koon's inspiration came from his son's play toy dinosaur, and as the sculpture started taking form, it's 'split' became a somewhat cubist aspect, and also acted as a light shaft. According to the Gagosian Gallery, "Split-Rocker suggest the idea of a fantasy shelter." To me, it's absolutely remarkable!
Join me as on my 'Life In Full Bloom' adventure as I walk through Rockefeller Center and explore the statue for myself.
