After playing muse to Azzedine Alaïa and conquering the fashion world in the late '80s/'90s, Frederique has become a true national treasure to her native Holland, who named a flower after her in 2005. The Dutch supermodel then set out to help people transform their homes with her e-commerce, and lifestyle brand inspired by her love for flowers, Frederique's Choice, launched in 2008—which will officially open for business next month in the United States. Van Der Wal shares why she believes everyone should always have a bouquet in their home, and whether or not her daughter will follow in her fashionable footsteps.
